Benefits of swimming

Swimming has many benefits for the mind and it’s also a total body workout. Whether it's aquagym, aquabike, water yoga or simply swimming, you work out different muscles at the same time: arms, shoulders, legs, chest, abs, back... It’s not limited to a specific group of people as you can swim at any age from 4 months.

It is one of the rare sports we can do while our body is in a horizontal position. As a result, our heart gets rid of gravity and pumps blood easier to all parts of the body - and also increases oxygen to the brain and improves cerebral function.

Swimming allows you to work all your muscles effectively without pain. Some moves can be difficult to perform on the floor while it's easier to do them in the water as 80% of our body is in water.

The resistance created by water makes you use a lot of energy and effort without being aware of it. It is a deep workout that improves strength and metabolism, and tones the muscles. Furthermore, there is no need to use extra weights because water provides the required support.

Swimming is also a stress reliever - Floating on your back and looking up at the clouds (or the roof) reduces anxiety. It’s so relaxing and everything fades away as your only concern is breathing and thinking about water. A great feeling of well-being.

This is your sign to start including swimming into your routine. On holiday, at the gym during lessons, swimming should be part of your lifestyle as it’s a combination of many exercises rolled into one.
